Job Description :
Local Contractor requires additional site based Quantity Surveying staff. Our site based QS staff are required to pursue the following tasks:-
1. Keep track of and measure the progress of all work out on site, and assist the project manager in the preparation of monthly progress reports.
2. Prepare monthly valuations, agree with the GEC/PMC, and submit Payment Applications (PAs) on time in accordance with the Contract.
3. Follow up the progress of the PAs through the GEC-PMC-PWA system to make sure payment is forthcoming within the Contracted times.
4. Understand the Contract requirements and keep alert to any changes, with appropriate notices/requests for Instructions and/or Change Orders.
5. Measure and evaluate the cost of any changes to the Contract, and prepare appropriate Cost Impact Assessments (CIA) for submittal to the GEC/PMC.
6. Prepare claims arising from any variation in the Contract quantities or conditions, or any additions or deletions to the Contract.
7. Prepare and maintain ongoing project cost forecasts and comparison with budget at all times, to be incorporated in reports from project manager to Head Office.
8. Report and liaise with the project manager at all times.
What qualifications and experience should a QS have?
1. 1st degree from a recognised university in an appropriate subject.
2. Fluency in the English language.
3. A minimum of 10 years prior experience with a Contractor mainly on infrastructure projects, with at least 2 years in Qatar, on Ashghal projects.
