Though there was an increasae in cases related to non renewal of driving licenses, overall traffic violations saw a considerable decline in May 2014.
There was 160955 cases reported in April 2014 but it was only 158300 in May. 96 percent of the total 8144 fresh licenses isssued were to non-Qataris. Various Municpal authorities in Qatar reported a total of 2554 violations out of which 1184 cases were reported in Al Rayyan area.
Violations and cases against food safety hold the maximum number in reporting. A data on monthly household clearly stated a fact that people were spending more than 30% of their house hold expenditure on Food baskets to foods consumed from restaurants.
