QCDC promotes healthy living

Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has set aside one work-hour every Tuesday for staff to exercise.

The initiative is part of QCDC’s commitment to promote a sports-loving culture among its employees.

Employees are encouraged to make use of QF’s recreation facilities.

Abdullah al-Mansoori, director of QCDC, said the National Sport Day initiative aims to encourage all employees to exercise at least one hour a week to encourage communities to live healthy, active lifestyles.

QCDC, which launched the initiative on National Sport Day 2016, has now dedicated more than 600 work-hours to fitness, a number that is expected to rise as National Sport Day approaches.

Abdul Rahman al-Kaabi, marketing officer at QCDC, said “the initiative is a weekly reminder of the importance of our physical and mental health, and of incorporating sports into our lives. It also reflects positively through improved performance and efficiency in the workplace.”

Awatef al-Salmi, a fitness coach at the Education City Clubhouse, praised QCDC’s employees for exercising on a weekly basis, saying staff have shown great enthusiasm and a high level of commitment to advancing their levels of fitness.
