Nearly 90mn gallons of rainwater removed

Emergency teams have concluded the process of draining out rainwater from areas lying under different municipalities across the country, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said yesterday.

Nearly 90mn gallons of water were removed by the MME teams, the ministry announced on Twitter, stressing that “all waterlogged streets and areas had been cleared”.

Some 563 workers were involved in these operations, along with 867 tankers and 59 pumps, the MME further informed through a statement.

The total amount of water removed between November 25 and 30 amounted to 89,182,791 gallons, which was done in 18,203 batches.
