LG Electronics (LG) has announced the launch of a new 55inch Curved OLED TV (Model EC9300), further expanding its lineup of TVs with OLED technology.

In a statement issued yesterday, the company said its newest OLED TV features a “streamlined, sculptured” stand and LG’s Cinema Screen Design. The slender TV has ultra-slim bezels and a minimal depth that increases ever so slightly towards the centre of the screen. These design elements enhance viewer immersion and form part of LG’s “strong aesthetic identity”.

Moreover, the EC9300 can be wall-mounted, giving customers the option to display their new TV like a “work of art”.

“We passionately believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the perfect picture and feel the difference of LG OLED TV,” said In-kyu Lee, senior vice-president and head of the TV division at LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

Equipped with LG’s WRGB OLED technology, the EC9300 guarantees the “ultimate picture quality” with infinite contrast ratio for colours that appear richer, brighter and blacks that look deeper, purer, according to the statement.

The TV also offers “absolute motion clarity” via a refresh rate that is significantly faster than that of a typical LED TV. Further, the gently curved display of LG’s picture perfect OLED TV provides an optimal viewing experience from practically any angle.

Users can also feel the difference of LG Smart+ TV, which incorporates the new webOS platform. webOS introduces a clean, minimalist graphical user interface that delivers an uncomplicated and intuitive user experience. The EC9300 also features Cinema 3D, which utilises LG’s proprietary Film Patterned Retarder technology to generate convincing 3D images without any distracting flicker or crosstalk.

Users can also take advantage of an advanced conversion engine that turns 2D content into 3D entertainment.
